Garden Gear Review - Cutco Shears

These Cutco scissors are amazing! We have gone through quite a few pair of heavy duty kitchen shears over the years. These are the first pair that I really feel have held up to both kitchen and garden use. They are the scissors I reach for at harvest time and for general garden trimming and maintenance. We've had them 3 years and have had no complaints.....at all......and we're picky people.
The best part is that they separate for super easy and thorough cleaning.  Some scissors get gunky stuff stuck in the joints and deep down between the blades, but not this one!  No hidden nooks and crannies here. It's wonderful to be able to really clean something and see that it's clean, especially important if you are using these in the house and outside.

The blade and handle of these Cutco scissors are all one piece, which means that the working portion will not slip out or become unglued from the handle.  The black handles are molded and very comfortable, I find that they fit my hand very well with no rubbing or chaffing with extended use.  My hubby, for the record, reports that the scissors are just as comfortable for him and we have very different hand sizes.

The one and only draw back would be the price of the Cutco scissors. We purchased these for $100 to support a neighbor who was a first time sales rep.  A quick look at eBay shows that they can be purchased on there for $80.   It may sound a little steep but this is a quality item that is very well constructed, has a lifetime warranty, is likely the last pair you'll ever need and is made in the USA. Cutco is from Olean, New York and also makes Ka-Bar Knives.

Beckie's Bottom Line: Great quality, worth the price.
